Everything’s coming up red, white and blue here at Fred Astaire Dance Studio. The Fourth of July is a day marked with barbeques, parades, concerts and fireworks, but if you still need some help getting into the holiday spirit Fred Astaire Dance Studio has gathered some all-American videos in this edition of The Swing of Things!
What would any Fourth of July celebration be without the Lee Greenwood hit “God Bless the USA.”? It’s like “Jingle Bells” at Christmas! River Road High School in Amarillo, Texas, put on a patriotic pep rally for their students complete with jumps, flips, lifts and balloons.
Let’s pick up the pace a bit and what better way to do that than a video featuring cute little kids. Actually, we can do better! How about a video featuring cute little kids, decked out in red, white and blue, wearing hats and singing a patriotic hit!
Well, we’ve seen it all now. You really can line dance to anything! The creator of this dance calls it “The USA.” and it’s set to none other than the John Philip Sousa classic “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”
Dancing With the Stars – and Stripes
And who could forget Season 12 of “Dancing With the Stars”! That’s the season where the dance teams prepared for America Week! The winner that week was NFL wide receiver Hines Ward and his professional partner Kym Johnson. They would go on to win the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. For America Week, they presented a rumba set to “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood. Hines and Kym might have won the judges’ favor that week, but here at Fred Astaire Dance Studio, we were just a little partial to the samba presented by actress and singer Chelsea Kane and her professional partner Mark Ballas, so here’s both! God Bless the U.S.A.!
Does Independence Day make you feel like dancing? Fred Astaire Dance Studios are located around the country and always ready to welcome new students with terrific introductory specials and a friendly staff ready to teach! So come to your local Fred Astaire Dance Studio today to learn how you can set off fireworks of your own on the dance floor!
